What should you pay attention to when choosing industrial lighting?
– The right light colouris important when choosing your lighting. The colour temperature is expressed in Kelvin (k). LED lighting is available in the light colours warm white (3000K), bright white (4000K) and cold white (5700K). A bright colour temperature is most suitable for industrial halls and we generally recommend 5700K. This light provides bright white light.
– Prevent shadows and ensure even light. To always have good visibility, it is important that the light is distributed as evenly as possible. This way, the shelves and products are always clearly visible. In addition, it is important to ensure that no annoying shadows are created. This can severely limit visibility. If a workplace is insufficiently lit, this can also lead to dangerous situations.

Standards for industrial lighting
It is also important that the racks are well lit. Different requirements and standards have been drawn up for lighting per situation, these are stated in the European standard for the light level of industrial hall lighting (NEN-EN 12464-1). An average light level of 100 to 150 lux is assumed. Lux refers to the amount of light (lumen) that falls on a certain surface. The NEN standards distinguish between the different situations in an industrial hall or warehouse. Below you will find an overview of a good guideline for different work areas in an industrial hall.
