Many companies want to become more sustainable and at the same time save on unnecessary costs. Lighting is one of the largest energy items in a building and therefore causes high energy costs. LED lighting is the most sustainable form of lighting because LED lamps consume much less energy and use the energy much more efficiently when producing light.<\/p>\n

A good example of this are LED panels. LED panels consume up to 90 percent less energy than a fluorescent fixture with the same light output. We notice that many companies do not know which panel best suits their situation. There are many brands on the market today and they often have a big difference in quality. This raises the question, how do you choose the right LED panel for your situation? There are three important points that you should pay attention to when choosing an LED panel; the size, color temperature and UGR value. We will come back to this later in the blog. <\/p>\n

What are LED panels?<\/h2>\n

LED panels can best be seen as square or rectangular fixtures with built-in LED chips. These chips spread the light evenly over the surface of the panel and therefore offer high-quality lighting with optimum energy savings.<\/p>\n

LED panels are ideal for installation in standard system ceilings to replace existing fluorescent fixtures because their size means they can be used exactly in place of a ceiling tile. They ensure a sleek finish to the ceiling and provide even light.<\/p>\n

It is also possible to use LED panels as a surface-mounted system, in this way you can also use the panels in different situations.<\/p>\n

Why choose LED panels?<\/h2>\n

The main advantage of an LED panel is the high energy savings. 60×60 cm fluorescent fixtures consume a lot of power and the fluorescent tubes often have to be replaced. LED panels, on the other hand, are very economical in energy consumption and have a long lifespan. LED panels have integrated LED chips, which means that no maintenance is required. In addition, LED panels are easy to install because the standard sizes correspond to most common system ceilings.<\/p>\n

When are LED panels suitable?<\/h2>\n

LED panels are mainly found in professional environments. Think of companies<\/u> <\/a><\/strong>such as office spaces<\/strong><\/u><\/a>, schools, hospitals, shops<\/u>, dentists’ and GP practices, libraries, and almost any other conceivable space.<\/p>\n

You can probably guess: LED panels can be used almost anywhere. This is not only because of the pleasant light that the panels produce, but also because of the durability and energy efficiency of the product.<\/p>\n

\u00a0What should you pay attention to when choosing LED panels?<\/h2>\n

The dimensions<\/u><\/em> – LED panels are available in the most common sizes for system ceilings. The most common sizes are 60×60 cm and 120×30 cm panels, other dimensions that occur are 120×60 cm and 60×30 cm. Do you have a different size? The color temperature<\/u><\/em> – 3000 Kelvin is mainly used in general areas such as corridors, halls and canteens. 4000 Kelvin is best suited for schools and offices, while 5600 Kelvin is best suited for spaces\/situations where natural daylight is needed. Think of an operating room, laboratory or workshop.<\/p>\n

The UGR value<\/u><\/em> \u2013 NEN standards apply to workplaces. Part of this is the UGR value of an LED panel. If you want to use LED panels in an office, you should always choose panels with a UGR >19 value. This means that the panel provides minimal light nuisance and therefore meets the standards set for a workplace.<\/p>\n

Important specifications<\/u><\/em> \u2013 There are a number of specifications that are important to pay attention to. The wattage indicates the consumption of the LED panels. The lower the wattage, the more economical the panel is. If you want to know what the light output is, gst is of a panel, then you look at the number of lumens. What is also very important is to know how efficient a panel is? You do this by looking at the lumen watt ratio. This indicates how many lumens are produced per watt. The higher this number is, the more efficient the panel is.<\/p>\n

Other important points are the warranty and lifespan of the LED panels. The lifespan is always indicated in burning hours.<\/p>\n
